Update on my car

Here's the latest in the on going saga of my car. We found out today, exactly one month to the day after my wreck, they (Farmer's Insurance) ARE totaling my Mustang.

When last we left the story my car was at the repair shop and it was going to take about $9,000 to fix it, but Farmer's Insurance (our insurance co.) deemed it fixable because it wasn't at least half of the total price of the car. Ok.

So, we kind of left it last week and had been told that the repair shop would be ordering the parts and getting started on it "soon." Robby called the repair shop today and was told that the repairs were not $9,000, but closer to $14,000 - $15, 000 and that is slightly over half of the price of the car. AND our insurance adjuster "should" have called us and told us last week. She never did.

Personally, I think this is all to delay having to pay us a chunk of money. Apparently when it comes to letting go of their money Farmer's is kind of tight.

All the paperwork is supposed to be wrapped up the end of this week. It looks like I go car shopping this weekend. Yiiipeee!

Will keep you all posted.

At least you can get another just like it. It's not like you'd had all kinds of custom work done on it. Still... that sounds kind of disappointing. But I guess you can get a new one faster than they could have gotten the old one back to you.

I agree. You'll get new wheels a lot faster than they could fix the previous car. It's kinda sad, though. It was a good car; it just didn't have a lot of luck. Are you going to get the exact same make/model/color car? Or are you get something different?

The new car will be a Mustang, *probably* an '06, and either blue or red.
